Jim Bompensa (Fitness / Martial Arts)

Jim is the founder of Body Physics Fitness and Co-founder of Haddonfield Martial Arts Academy.  He began personal training at a central New Jersey health club while attending college. As part of his degree requirements, Jim completed an internship at the Health and Wellness Center for Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals. After graduation he began managing individual gym locations for Town Sports International, one of the three largest health club companies in the United States. He worked at their locations in Franklin Park, Princeton, Plainsboro, and Cherry Hill. In 2002 Jim opened his own health club in Haddonfield, New Jersey. It is called Body Physics.  Jim is the creator of  the Body Physics Boot Camp.   This is a full body workout and an exciting outdoor alternative to indoor exercising.  He has also developed The Body Physics Boxer's Boot Camp.  This workout provides the benefits of a Boxer's training session under the supervision of a certified personal trainer.

Jim has appeared on Channel 6 Action News and has regularly appeared on and contributed to NBC 10 News, NBC10.com and NBC's All That and More.  Jim has also appeared on Designing Spaces on TLC.  He has been a fitness spokesman and is currently a featured fitness expert for Smooth Fitness.  His articles have been featured in Jersey Fit Magazine, The Hammonton News and The Haddonfield Sun.  He has been quoted in South Jersey Magazine.  His Boot Camp program was the subject of an article in Inside Magazine and featured in SJ Magazine and The Courier Post.  His workout routines have been featured in Maximum Fitness Magazine and The Courier Post.  His public speaking appearances have included presentations to The Mercer County Public School System, The Hamilton Chapter of the Mall Walkers Association of America, The 65 Club in Haddonfield, Cherry Hill ROTARY, The Haddonfield CROP Walk, The Teachers of Hammonton Grade School, The Haddonfield Newcomers Club, The Camden County HOGS, and Urban Outfitters.  

Jim holds a bachelor of science degree in Corporate Fitness. He also has obtained the following credentials;

Jared Silverstein (Fitness)

Jared has been a member of the Body Physics team since its inception in 2002.  He began studying fitness at the age of 18. His interest in this field began when he lost over 70 pounds. In 2000 Jared graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Kinesiology Movement Science and Applied Fitness. Upon his graduation, he turned his hobby of exercising into a lifestyle and career. Jared began his career at the Crozer-Keystone Springfield Healthplex in Media Pennsylvania. While at the Healthplex he created such programs as strength classes, cardiac rehabilitation programs, stability ball training, health risk appraisals, and special population classes. In 2001 Jared began working at the Philadelphia Sports Club in Cherry Hill. In his time there he built a large and loyal client base as well as attained the title of Fitness Program Manager. In 2002 Jared moved his clients to Body Physics in Haddonfield and has continued to build a loyal client base.  Jared has been active in the developement of Body Physics' cutomized membership program and currently is a Body Physics Boot Camp Instructor.  He is involved with developing, promoting, and managing corporate fitness programs. 

Along with his Bachelor of Science degree, Jared has made multiple appearances on NBC 10 and has attained the following fitness credentials.

Kirt Galiano (Martial Arts)

Kirt is the president and CEO of the Kickin’ Flips Preschool Fitness Programs and Co-Founder of Haddonfield United Martial Arts Academy serving the community with over 14 years experience in the children’s fitness industry and over 20 years martial arts experience. Kirt started his early years of fitness and training in 1988 studying the martial arts. In 2001, he obtained his first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
As part of his training, Kirt started competing regularly in the sparring divisions in many local and regional tournaments. In 1992, Kirt won his first of three gold medals in the men’s flyweight sparring divisions followed by two more gold medals in 1993 and 1995 qualifying him for National Level Competitions.
In 1995, Kirt teamed up with Kathy Gleason Jachter to start a small mobile fitness company specializing in the sports of gymnastics, karate and fitness. Since inception in 1995 Kickin’ Flips has taught over 10,000 kids in the Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties in Southern NJ.

 

Susan Massara (Fitness)

Susan has a Health and Physical Education degree from Rowan University.  She is also a American Muscle and Fitness certified personal trainer.  Susan was an All American field hockey player at Rowan University.  While she is an accomplished personal trainer for all populations, she specializes in sport specific training and youth fitness.  She is currently running a fitness program for Haddonfield's Central School. 

Susan is also a representative for the field hockey company STX and is currently an assistant field hockey coach for Timber Creek Highschool.


                                                         Brian Sykes (Martial Arts)

My name is Mr. Brian and I’ve been teaching with Kickin’ Flips for three years. I practice Tang Soo Do and Japanese Jujitsu and have been in the martial arts for over ten years. I am a first-degree black belt and am currently working on getting my second-degree black belt in the near future. I am also an instructor at the United Martial Arts Academy with Master Drew Hayes and plan to open a karate school of my own and a franchise for Kickin’ Flips as well. As an instructor I push myself to make every class better than the last!


Jack Bower (Fitness)

Jack is a graduate of Rowan University with a degree in Health and Exercise Science.  Jack began studying engineering at Virginia Tech, but his involvement in athletics led him to pursue a career is something more physically active.  He transferred to Gloucester County College where he obtained his Associates Degree in Health and Physical Education.

While attending Gloucester County College, Jack established himself as an outstanding athlete.  He was a member of the Cross County National Team and Track and Field National Team.  He finished eight in the nation for decathlon while setting an NJCCAA record in the pole vault for that event.  After attending Gloucester County College Jack transferred to Rowan University where he majored in Health and Exercise Science and was a member of the Swim, Dive and Track and Field teams.

Jack is currently an adjunct professor at Gloucester County College.  He is also a swim coach at Raccoon Valley Swim Club in Mullica Hill and Pitman High School in Gloucester County. Jack brings excitement and intensity to the exercise programs at Body Physics.

Jack is currently studying to take his NSCA CPT/CSCS exam and plans on pursuing his Master’s Degree in the field of Exercise Science.
